![]() David Bradford is an artist living and working in Sussex, having studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College of Art and Sussex University in the 1960's and 1970's.
The British landscape is realised in both sculpted wood and photography. He is a published wildlife photographer and lectures on the subject. The coastlines of Sussex and the west country are his inspiration, which he interprets through carved wood wall panels and free standing sculptures. As a student observing and photographing the Thames when it was still a working river, began a lifelong interest in shipping, coastal craft and a love of sailing. These themes are developed using British hard and softwoods. Natural pigments, stains and beeswax are used to enhance the sculptures, without detracting from the intrinsic beauty of the original timber. David Bradford's work is enjoyed by a diverse clientele, from prime ministers to pop musicians, and is in permanent museum collections and galleries.
